Fausti finishes in Third Place
Fausti wrapped up his participation in Leyendas y Prodigios II, held in Madrid, with a well-deserved third-place finish. Last year, at this same tournament, he earned his first GM norm, and this time he once again showed that he can compete on equal terms with top-level Grandmasters. He started the tournament with a win over Argentine player Diego Flores. He then drew against Pepe Cuenca and David Antón, before securing another important victory over Dutch Grandmaster Ivan Sokolov. At the end of the first half of the tournament, he remained among the leading contenders for the title. In the second half of the tournament, he suffered his first setback, losing to Diego Flores in the sixth round. However, he continued to fight until the end and finished with 5.5 points from 10 rounds, a result that also earned him 11 Elo rating points.

Finish the first round
You have finished the first round. But until 12/09, the "Legends and Prodigies II" tournament continues at the Nave Bellver, Madrid. After facing all the rivals on 10/09, the second round starts: the same opponents, but changing the color of the pieces. A very special tournament in which Fausti officially debuts his brand new title of Grandmaster.

Fausti returns to Madrid
From 7 to 12 September 2026, the Bellver Ship in Madrid will host the second edition of the "Legends and Prodigies II" chess tournament. The competition will be played in a closed double-round league format between six participants, under a pace of play of 60 minutes plus 30 seconds per play (fast-classic mode approved by fide for the standard rating) and with the novelty of the confessional during the games.

Fausti visited Club Stadium Casablanca this Thursday, September 3, 2026, on the occasion of the presentation of the “I MyInvestor International Chess Open at Stadium Casablanca”, which will take place from September 5 to 12 at the Zaragoza club’s facilities. Fausti is embarking on a new chapter in Zaragoza, where he has settled with his family and will continue to be associated with Stadium Casablanca, the club he represented last season in Spain’s top chess division, "División de Honor".

II Emilio Sánchez Jerez Memorial
On August 29, Fausti participated in the "II Emilio Sánchez Jerez Memorial Chess Tournament", a high-level fast tournament held in Rincón Huertano, where excellent players gathered. He managed to finish in an outstanding 5th place, once again demonstrating his competitiveness and his desire to continue growing. The tournament champion was GM David Antón Guijarro.

In both he was the best Under-18
On August 15 and 16, the Hotel Palacio de Mengíbar hosted the Spanish Absolute Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships, an event that brought together a large part of the Spanish chess elite and in which Fausti once again took part. In his second year competing in these championships, Faustino faced two highly demanding days, with 11 rounds in each format. He finished 8th in the Spanish Blitz Championship and 6th in the Spanish Rapid Championship, earning the recognition of Best U18 Player in both tournaments. Another high-level experience for Fausti, who continues to gain valuable competition and experience as he works towards new goals in chess.

It will be in Jaén, Mengíbar, Spain
Fausti will add a new international experience to his career as he competes in the blitz and rapid chess disciplines in Mengíbar, Spain. Following the conclusion of his tour across Argentina, Fausti returns to the top-tier international board. This coming weekend, between August 15 and 16, 2026, he will participate in the Spanish National Absolute Blitz and Rapid Chess Championships, held in the city of Mengíbar (Jaén). The tournament will gather nearly 300 of the top chess players at the Hotel Palacio de Mengíbar. 📅 Schedule and Competition Timings ⚡ Saturday, August 15: Blitz Chess Championship Start Time: 5:30 PM (Spain) | 12:00 PM (Argentina) Format: 11-round Swiss system. Multitudinous event at the River Station
Fausti headlined a massive event at the Estación Fluvial in Rosario. He faced 25 local chess players in a simultaneous exhibition and played head-to-head games with provincial officials. In this way, on Saturday, August 8th, the city of Rosario served as the backdrop for the finale of Fausti’s national exhibition tour, promoted by Visit Argentina. Following his successful appearances in Tigre and Mar del Plata, he arrived in the city of Santa Fe province to share a special day with the public at the Estación Fluvial facilities.

Fausti to close the tour of some cities in the country, sharing this passion that is chess with so many young people and adults will be on Saturday 08/08/26 in the River Walk, in Rosario, playing with 25 young simultaneous games. With this activity, Fausti closes his tour, once again making his mark and demonstrating that chess can also be a huge source of inspiration for new generations.
