Between November 26 and December 6, 2024, the 99th edition of the Argentine Absolute Chess Championship took place, bringing together 12 of the country’s best players with an average Elo rating of 2456. The tournament was held across several venues in the City of Buenos Aires and concluded with highly exciting moments. GM Sandro Mareco was crowned champion. Fausti delivered an outstanding performance, making history at just 11 years old by becoming the youngest player ever to participate in this prestigious event. Invited by the Argentine Chess Federation, he secured 4th place with 6.5 points in the final standings. He was surpassed only by the experienced Grandmasters Fernando Peralta and Diego Flores. In addition, his performance earned him 14 Elo points, bringing his rating up to 2433.
