At the end of 2024, between December 26 and 30, Fausti participated in the World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships, where he had the opportunity to compete alongside some of the world’s top players such as Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, and Hikaru Nakamura, among others. He surprised everyone with an impressive comeback after a difficult start. After losing his first three games, he went on to win five, draw three, and lose only one. His performance rating reached 2508 Elo, earning him an increase of 18.5 points in the international rankings. Throughout the event, he faced 12 Grandmasters, defeating four of them. After the Rapid Championship concluded, Fausti took on the challenge of the 13-round Blitz tournament, finishing with 4 wins, 3 draws, and 6 losses, placing 144th overall.
