In May 2025, Fausti participated in the prestigious “Sharjah Masters International Chess Championship 2025” in the United Arab Emirates. At just 11 years old, he stood out among the tournament’s 82 players, finishing in 51st place after entering as the 81st seed. He faced numerous Grandmasters, achieving a victory against GM Mahammad Muradli (2603) and drawing with other strong players, including GM Sergei Azarov (2596). With a performance rating of 2543, he came very close to earning his first GM norm.
