On July 2, 2025, Fausti had the honor of participating in the “38th City of León Grandmaster Tournament,” a prestigious high-level rapid chess event. In the semifinals, he faced legendary Indian Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand, a five-time World Chess Champion. Despite his young age, Fausti delivered an exceptional performance, drawing all four initial rapid games and demonstrating remarkable maturity and strategic skill. In the blitz tiebreak (3 minutes + 2-second increment), Anand eventually prevailed by a score of 3.5–2.5 to advance to the final. The tournament was ultimately won by Vietnamese Grandmaster Le Quang Liem, who defeated Vishy Anand in the final by a score of 3–1. In addition to competing, Fausti also stood out as a commentator during the second semifinal between Le Quang Liem and Jaime Santos Latasa. Alongside masters Pepe Cuenca and Sergio Estremera, he demonstrated excellent analytical and communication skills, capturing the audience’s attention with his strategic insights and charisma.
