At the 2025 World Rapid Chess Championship, held as part of the FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Championships in Doha, Qatar, Fausti delivered a solid performance against an extremely competitive field of more than 250 world-class players. He finished the event with 7 points out of 13, placing 77th overall. Thanks to this performance, he increased his rapid rating from 2489 to 2512, surpassing the 2500 mark in rapid chess for the first time and achieving a historic milestone in his competitive career. Among his most notable results were victories over GM Evgeniy Najer (Russia) and GM Pentala Harikrishna (India), both highly experienced grandmasters. He also secured draws against top-level players such as GM Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan) and GM Leinier Domínguez (USA). In the Blitz Championship, played over 19 rounds at a 3+2 time control, Fausti once again produced an outstanding performance against the world's elite. He finished in 72nd place with 10.5 points out of 19, scoring 9 wins, 3 draws, and 7 losses against top grandmasters. His achievement was particularly impressive considering that his opponents had an average Elo rating of 2636. Among his most remarkable victories were wins against elite players such as Levon Aronian (2774 Elo), one of the world's top 20 players, whom he defeated in the very first round, and Leinier Domínguez (2627 Elo), the strong American grandmaster. He also defeated GMs Daniel Dardha (2599), Eduardo Iturrizaga (2630), Jaime Santos Latasa (2611), and Alan Pichot (2629), among other strong grandmasters. His losses, meanwhile, came against some of the strongest names on the international circuit, including Fabiano Caruana (2751).
