Fausti receives another distinction: Best Child Chess Player in the World
Fausti was awarded as the world’s best child chess player of 2025
Fausti has become the protagonist of an impressive and fast-rising career in the chess world. He began practicing the sport during the COVID-19 pandemic, initially self-taught and later training with coaches and masters, eventually becoming a standout figure who in 2026 aims to become a Grandmaster. Indeed, in 2025 he reached his highest position in the FIDE rankings among Argentine chess players, climbing to seventh place; in 2023, he had already become the youngest International Master in history. In the first days of 2026, Fausti also received the award for “Best International Breakthrough Athlete,” according to a vote organized by the Spanish magazine Marca. In Madrid, he won the Leyendas y Prodigios tournament in September 2025, where he achieved his first Grandmaster norm, and in December he secured his second GM norm at the fourth edition of the Szmetan-Giardelli Magistral tournament in Buenos Aires.
